Over 100, 000 Perm residents and guests of the Youth Capital joined the City Day and Russia Day celebrations

In total, more than 60 festive events were held across all districts of Perm

The festivities traditionally began on June 11, the eve of the City Day, with a celebratory event in the Tatishchev Square. As part of the Defender of the Fatherland Year, the Mayor of Perm Eduard Sosnin awarded commemorative medals to participants of the Special Military Operation and presented a symbolic “key to the city” to representatives of the All-Russian public movement “Victory Volunteers”. The event was attended by 1, 200 people.

On the City Day,  the Badges of Honour “For Special Contribution to the Development of the District” were awarded for the first time. Mayor Eduard Sosnin took part in the official ceremony.

Later, six memorial plaques were unveiled on the Walk of Valour and Glory commemorating notable Perm residents who made a significant contribution to the the country. Around 1,500 people attended the ceremony. The City Day also included ceremonial marriage registrations.

Key events dedicated to the City Day and Russia Day were held on the city esplanade and the Kama embankment. On June 12, about 80, 000 people attended concert programs on the main stage. The Russian Union of Martial Arts hosted a festival in the central square of the city esplanade, followed by a performance of “Ruslan and Lyudmila” by the Perm Regional Philharmonic. Later, children's music and dance groups performed, including the pop studio “Antares”, the Ural dance ensemble “Kamushka”, the dance project “Autograph”, the ballet school “ChudiDance”,  Iulia Trester’s Dance School, and the vocal studio “Zvuchi”. The evening concluded with performances by Perm DJs.

From the main stage, Mayor Eduard Sosnin extended congratulations:

“Dear friends, I am pleased to welcome you at the heart of our beloved city. With each passing year, Perm shines even brighter on the map of Russia – thanks to you, your achievements, and your projects. Today is a wonderful occasion to say thank you to everyone who makes life in our city better!”

About 35, 000 people participated in the celebrations on the central Kama embankment. On June 12, the Russia Strongman Championship 2025 was held in the amphitheatre. The event continued with children's performances. Street musicians followed: violinist Mikhail Vitvitsky and saxophonist Sergey Shein, leading into a performance by the band “Ananas”. The evening again closed with local DJ sets.

In addition, on the City Day and Russia Day, for the first time, Perm hosted the “Bloggers of Russia” festival, part of the Youth Capital 2025 events. Held in front of the Theatre-Theatre, the festival ended with the “Air Beauty” flash mob in honour of Russia Day. Participants created a large Russian flag using 30 thousand white, blue, and red ribbons, which was then released into the sky.

A formal public meeting took place at the Soldatov Palace of Culture, where Mayor Eduard Sosnin presented awards in culture and the arts. Twenty cultural workers from Perm were nominated. Submitted works were evaluated by a jury of professors, honoured cultural workers of the Russian Federation, experts, and heads of cultural institutions.

The celebration concluded with a colourful seven-minute fireworks  viewed by 35, 000 spectators.

Festive events were also held throughout all districts of Perm. In Zakamsk, a festive programme “Weekend on the Waterfront: Zakamsk – A Center of Energy and Spirit” featured performances by local artists: the ensembles “Romain” and “Ba-Ba-Tu”, the musical theatre “Orpheus”, the children's vocal ensemble “Otrazhenie”, the folk band “Grusha”, the band SO FIX, and a large musical show by “Orpheus” chamber orchestra and a musician Nikita Savostin. A festive concert programme was also held in the Happiness park.

In Ordzhonikidzevsky district, celebrations began on June 11 on the square outside the Pushkin Palace of Culture, featuring performances by local ensembles, singer Aleksander Tyshchik, and the orchestra of the Perm Military Institute of the National Guard of the Russian Federation. On June 12, residents enjoyed a concert in the Chekhov Park and a festive programme outside the Iskra Palace of Culture.

In the Industrial District, the traditional venue was the Mindovsky Garden, which hosted the concert “Perm Is My City”. Performances included the “Grusha” music band and the gypsy ensemble “Romain”. The celebration featured interactive zones, master classes, a dance flash mob, and photo areas.

In Sverdlovsky District, an entertainment programme was held on the square in front of the Kalinin Palace of Culture. In Motovilikhinsky District, a festive event was held in the Yury Kalachnikov Square. In Dzerzhinsky District, Children's Library No. 15 hosted a series of creative workshops titled “The Bear that Unites” from June 7 to 13.
